There is enough strength to the plier that i can actually mar a tight nut and not from shear force. Eventually a ratchet was better on that tough nut. But i am impressed with the pliers strength. The finish is okay, which is why i only gave 4 stars. So 5 stars for performance 3 stars for pretty, if that really matters.
What can i say they’re channellocks. You won’t be disappointed (especially if you’re able to grab these on sale like i did). One of the most useful tools in the toolbox.
Amazingly, still made in the us. Great construction, well designed channels that tighten rather than slip apart as many cheap knock offs will when under pressure (). These two are the most useful sizes although a smaller pair is useful in tight spaces. Overall, highly recommended.
I like these pliers because they fit my hand and are as light as they can be and still do a good job. I would recomend these to anyone that used slip joint pliers. Most of us call any slip joint pliers channel locks. These are indeed channel locks, made in the usa. Great price for quality pliers.
It doesn’t get any better than channellock. These will last for several lifetimes.
I made the mistake, a few years ago, of buying the ‘store brand’ pliers instead. Damn things were not well machined and would jam up at the least convenient times. This pair will join its older brother that has been my go-to pliers for about 12 years.
Made in usa – strength and durability at a much more budget-friendly price than german competition. Fully worth the purchase price; especially for two tools.

Comments from buyers
“There’s nothing like the real Channelock thing!
, Great Channellock construction
, Rubbery coating had terrible smell.
I bought these to replace the ones i lost which i had for years. Not much to say, they are channellocks. They’ll last you forever and they are made here in the u.
Ok pliers, but do not seem to be the quality of channel lock products i have previously owned.
I liked my father’s tools so much that i had to get myself a pair when i moved out. This company makes the best pliers in pennsylvania.
They’re genuine channellocksif i don’t lose them, i’ll never have to buy any more; well, maybe in a smaller size, sometime… it’s great to have them in more than one size (i used to have a huge one, but i did lose that).
When i took these pliers out of the packaging (which was difficult to open) they smelled awful; i almost became ill. I put them on a shelf in my garage and didn’t come near them for a couple of weeks. By then, the smell was gone. Shortly after, i had to replace a fill valve in a toilet. I use tools in the house only as needed, so i expect these pliers will last quite a long time.
My husbands a plumber and these arethe only channel locks he will use.
Great price for two awesome must have tools. People call this “tounge and groove” plier a channellock for a reason. . It’s the best company that makes them.
Nice set, they’re channellocks, what more to i need to say?. I have many sets just like this and they always last for decades unless i lose them or abuse them. The quality seems to still be there.
Nothing else feels like real channellocks. Only others that felt as solid were tekton but they are a bit softer. Channellocks are built to take a beating if that’s what it takes to get the job done.
