These are not made in the usa as the description says. The package says made in china. They might be quality screwdrivers but it’s not what i was looking for so i’m returning them. I’m giving three stars because i feel it’s not fair to give them a lower rating without actually trying them.
My 1970’s set of craftsman screwdrivers was in a toolbox that was stolen recently. Was glad all the sizes still in one nice package for me to replace. The others had served me well for 40+ years of prying, pounding, and even putting in or tightening various screws in all manner of places or hard to reach locations. From stubby ones to the long reach ones, the set covers all my needs. Well marked, well made, color coded, easy to hold and use so why try to fix something that is not broken. Excellent deal to this day from craftsman and good price on amazon to boot.
Luckily these are craftsman and sears will replace them no questions asked. I had to exchange quite a few of these at sears within the first couple of months of purchase as the regular bits would twist easily. Granted i was using them to remove old rusted screws. Overall a good set and would be great for light use and everyday needs.
The screwdriver pictured at top right in this product picture (the small straight with a pocket clip) arrived with no finished tip on it at all — the square shaft just continues to the tip and then ends. Obviously some random manufacturing error. But it does make one wonder about the quality overall. So far (other than the above) i have no complaints (except that i now have way too many screwdrivers – 😉 ).
I placed an order for this a few days ago and the order was fulfilled by ascend ecommerce. Unfortunately, the set of screwdrivers i received had a manufacturing defect; one of the slotted (i. , flat-head) screwdrivers wasn’t machined at the factory and was just a 1/4′ square tip. Sears quality control clearly isn’t what it used to be. If i’m going to get crappy tools, i might as well get the same set from hft for $7also, i checked and my local sears sells this set for $27.
I remember my father having a set of these when i was a kid and he regularly abused them and used then as chisels, drifts, or turn it right side up and use the handle as a hammer. They lasted forever, and so when it became time to buy my own set of screwdrivers, the choice was very easy to make. I love that these are still made in america, and that they don’t feel like they’re made cheaper or with any less care.

Not a bad set and lifetime warranty as long as you dont use them for a pry bar or chisel. Note to everyone, buy pry bar and chisel set. Also, unless you have been living under a rock, you’ll know these haven’t been made in the u.
My experience with craftsman hand tools has been very good through the years. My last set of craftsman screwdrivers lasted for almost 30 years. To be fair, they’re likely still in fine shape. (be careful who you loan your tools too) i expect this set will last for at least as long. The package arrived promptly and this set includes a solid variation of flat head and phillips sizes. The reason i knocked off one star is this: the snub nose phillips in my set is crooked relative to the handle. It’s not by much- maybe a couple of degrees, but it’s noticeable. I would prefer that the head sits flush on a screw and that the center of the screwdriver not have a wobble during use. I’ll be contacting the seller to see if this individual item can be replaced. All the other shafts were straight relative to their handles.
This one broke on the first use and one of the phillips have broke in have(don’t have picture threw it out). If you do a lot of rebuilds find something sturdier.
I like craftsman tools, they’re generally well made. What i dislike is the substitution of real tools with toys to make up their set #’s. This set included 3 ‘toys’ as tools. I knew they were there, but not sure why the new owning company continues this poor tradition. Like everything at sears, and why they’re no-more, is because they had gotten very sleezy over the years in everything they did.
I’ve used these occasionally around the house for various odd jobs the past few months and they work great. None of them feel loose, but i’m also not using them with a lot of torque. I have power tools for that stuff, so for the easy screws they work great. Love the variety of lengths.
It works, its garunteed by craftsman, but its not made in usa. I read the q &a and reviews that stated its still made usa, but its not or maybe its the set i got. I get a feeling everything is made off shore these days. 2 star deduct for made in china.
