I tested different led’s with my lux meter on my motorcycle in a distance of 16 inches, and found that the astar extremely bright px chipset ($22. 1 times brighter than the original on the tail light and the break light was 3. 2 times brighter than the original. These are more expensive but i wanted the most light output on my motorcycle and they are working great for me. I also tested:these endcape 1157 ($15. 6 times brighter than the original on the tail light and the break light was 2. Quite good for the price but i wanted the most light.
I used them as tail/ brake lights on my motorcycle. Here is picture of the regulator lights on the right and the new led lights on the left.
These were purchased for use in my ’16 jeep grand cherokee. First off, these bulbs look to be very well made. I was happy with the overall look and packaging. The jcg takes two types of bulbs to complete the upgrade to led. One which goes in the tail light housing and the other in the lift gate. In regards to these bulbs, they do not quite fit right in the socket. You aren’t able to get them recessed enough for the little side clamps to lock down on the bulb. This wasn’t a big deal as the bulbs seem to fit snug in the socket and aren’t loose enough to come out. I’ve had no issues with them coming loose from vibration. There were no error codes thrown by adding these bulbs.
These are 7443 bulbs (double filament/combined taillight & brakelight) and will *not* fit or work properly in 7440 applications (single filament). Check your existing bulbs before ordering. Again, these are *not* universal 7440/7443 bulbs. It’s also worth pointing out that these bulbs are ~1/2′ longer than 7443 halogen bulbs so even though they fit in the socket, they could pose a challenge in fitting inside the tail light enclosure. With that huge disclaimer out of the way, these bulbs work exceptionally well & are very, very bright. They were easy to install & look great in my 2012 honda civic. I could not get them to work in my 2013 subaru outback, which has 7440 bulbs for the tail lights. These bulbs did not work in the subaru because the wires are not in the right places to line up with the contacts in the socket. Lastly, not a complaint but an observation: these bulbs just came in a padded envelope–no box, no instructions.
11 month review: i originally purchased these bulbs because my front halogen amber turn/parking lights were turning black from being constant on. The previous owner of my 2000 camry decided to hack up my turning signal bulb sockets from 3157s into 1157s for some reason. So double and triple check on the type of bulb for your application in person, not just relying on the amazon compatibility ‘chart’. Wired these with a pair of 50w 6ohm led load resistors – which you will need to purchase separately. I run all my lights constant on – as my camry model did not have a stock drl option added to it, so far with daily use, i can’t notice much of any dimming on the white leds. Pros:+ the white of the switchbacks are extremely bright. If you have 5000k hid bulbs, the whites will match fairly evenly in color. + amber leds are less bright, maybe possibly as bright as stock amber halogen bulbs but the switchback feature makes the amber turning function more noticeable. Cons:- i can’t think of any at this time. I should have purchased these bulbs sooner.
I did need to upgrade my blinker relay that was led compatible but easy fix and a cool touch to the truck.
- Work great super bright
- Halogens don’t stand a chance.
- So far so good
i used the amber leds on my rear turn signals in my 2012 toyota sienna. They are a great factory replacement and they look great turned off it looks like there are clear bulbs until you turn on the flashers. I also paired these bulbs with switchback led bulbs for my fronts also purchased through endpage and those are amazing led bulbs as well. I didn’t like the look of amber running lights and wanted the whole front housing to have the led 6500k temp look to it and these matched my headlights and drls perfectly. Update: after 2 weeks my left turn signal in the rear stopped working just a defective bulb. I contacted endpage and customer service was excellent. They are fast and courteous and got the problem resolved almost immediately. They sent me out a new pair of bulbs. I’ll update this review if necessary but so far exactly what i was looking for.
these lights are extremely bright and are very responsive. I ended up having to purchase some resistors to stop it from hyperflashing. These make quite the difference and modernize the car. Some of the bulbs are very tights to get into the factory socket. I ended up cracking the socket on two of mine, but i superglued it to make sure they were not coming out of the socket. I kept it at a 5 star because they stated that issue in the description. Lights still work even with the cracked socket. Left is led, right is stock halogen. Pretty sure you can see the difference.
Very long lasting and they have the reddest led diodes i’ve see. One issue i had was that they didn’t lock into my brake light sockets. The ridge on the connector is too high up but because these are the best bulbs out there for my particular needs i decided to modify them. Take a original bulb and compare the bases. If you see that the led ridge is higher. Make a mark where it should be and get a quality ‘large’ size ‘exacto’ razor blade. The kind that have several sections that can be snapped off to reveal a sharp end again. Start by scoring the plastic to the height you need it. Then do it again and again and again till you get deep into it. Then come at it from the top so you are at a right angle from the first cuts. You can cleanly cut off enough of the ridge and the bulbs will snap rite in.
I installed them in my john deere e170 lawn tractor. The stock 1156 bulbs were 220 lumin each. These bulbs came in at 1625 lumen each. I measured the lux with a light meter app and used a conversion app to convert from lux to lumin per ft2. In a nutshell a pair of them are really bright. I’ll check them out in a month or two to see if there’s any loss.
These 7443s are perfect for a 17 nissan altimafirst of all, they fit in the socket base nice and snug. So they shouldn’t fall into the housing. Some were so loose they would have fallen out very easily. It seems that the ones with the red bases like the jdmastars were all very loose. The one from superbrightleds. Com fit the tightest, but they were not bright enough. And not much difference from parking to brake light. The difference between brake light and parking light is excellent. Big differencedefinitely keeping these and returning all others. Edit 7/16/2018: bought another pair for a civic high stop light.

They are significantly brighter than the 7440 (w21w) bulbs that were replaced, but not so bright as to be blinding to following cars. The instant on/off is a contrast to the much slower incandescent bulbs, and i much prefer it. The only thing i would note about installation is to be certain that they are fully inserted into the socket where the latches engage – this can take some force; otherwise they can work out of the socket. Note about load resistors: the recommended 6 ohm resistors are just wrong for most applications. The point of load resistors is to replace the power consumption that is lost when the more efficient led lamps are used, so the current draw remains the same and the flasher speed is unchanged. In my case the lamps were 7440’s, which draw 21 watts. So the total of the led (high) and the load resistor should add to 21w. These red leds draw about 4. 5 watts so we need a load resistor of about 18-1/2 watts.
These switchbacks are a nice edition to the wife’s traverse. You will need resistors to keep them from flickering fast.
Just as described these lights are extremely bright. For parking lights they are as brightas incandescent brake lights. However, when you step on the brake or flip on your turnsignal these lights get even brighter. You are able to clearly distinguish between parkinglights and brake lights. Driving at night if you look in your review mirror you can actuallysee red light reflecting off the traffic signs as you pass them they are this bright.
so i had to replace my oem driver side brake light, due to the halogen bulb burning out. I also noticed that the oem set up had always been lacking in the light output department. Based on that alone i went with the led bulbs. I know the biggest issue with leds is that they can get extremely hot. With that in mind i sought out these bulbs specifically because of the hearty aluminum heat sink. The installation was a breeze and delivered a satisfying click into the harness. Also to note that the aluminum appeared to be machined very well and had some kind of a protective finish (may help in anti corrosion resistance). As soon as i had power to the bulb it was abundantly apparent how much light they put out and how much more pronounced that made my stock housings look. So far im very pleased with the overall quality and lumen output of these units. I will include a picture with the led’s installed in the driverside versus the halogen on the passenger side and a clip of them in action.
excellent replacement for the old incandescent bulbs. This are very bright, even in daylight it can be seen without a problem.
These bulbs fit perfect into a 2013 ford taurus sel model the white light is very brighti took a chance and did not yet buy the load resistor in case mine worked just fine. My led headlights and license plate bulbs work perfect so i thought that maybe my signal lights will also. However i get flashing twice as fast as normal and i could live with that but when it goes into the strobe light flash it becomes like not cool. So i will buy a load resistorupdate jan 13 2018i now see that just after a few weeks of very limited usage that the signal lights no longer flash. Now inside the car the signal light indicator is flashing at normal speeds. They worked perfect for like 3 weeks with the load resistors installed and no its not a bad connection as i soldered the wires in and both left and right sides no longer flash. The parking light section is working like it should. I have since ordered new bulbs from a different seller as to me these are defective. I discovered later that they flash perfect as long as the engine does not run. I did the test after installation with no engine running and assumed that all was good.

These are super bright and made the brake/running lights on my 2006 kia sportage look so much better. Overall the car looks newer in the rear because the tails are so bright and red. One thing to note if you have a kia or hyundai – kia designed their cars to disable the esp (traction control) and cruise control if it thinks the brake lights are out. I’m not sure what year model range this affects but it does affect the 2005-10 sportage. So, with these leds using way less energy, my car thought its brake bulbs were out, and would not engage cruise control. More importantly the “esp off” light came on and traction control would not work. I replaced the brake pedal switch as many suggested, which did not fix the issue. After reading about how a bad brake light bulb could cause this, i took out these leds and put regular bulbs back in and. Sucks because i love these bulbs, so i will have to wire in resistors to keep my cruise and traction control.
Much brighter than the stock incandescent. I’ve experimented with a lot of different led bulbs and it’s hard to know what your getting. Some are not as bright as you want, and others too bright that they annoy other drivers. The reason i went for these was the quality and that they claim to work well with the 2016 tacoma trd that i have. They possibly are 300% brighter as claimed. That seems about right, but it’s not an extreme difference, yet very obvious. In my opinion they are just right in the lumen strength. I got red because i didn’t want a washed out look with white, but white may be just fine and likely brighter.
They are very bright and seem to be well made. These bulbs have 54 leds (12 on each of four sides and six on the end. ) vs a well known competitor who’s bulbs have (six on each of three sides and three on the end) for a total of 21 leds. The led chips seem to be the same chips. The chips seem to be of equal brightness but the endpage leds have 33 more led chips for a higher total light output. I paid $15 for the endpage bulbs and $23 for the competitors bulbs. Both brands work in standard and ck socket. You can stick them in any way you want and they work correctly. Only time will tell long they will last and if they continue to work correctly. I do hope they last at this point they are the best value in led automobile replacement bulbs i have seen. I intend to get the amber ones also. I have included pic of both bulbs the endpage and the competitors. Update – i recently had the chance to follow my wifes car ( it’s the one i installed the bulbs in) and had a chance to see the bulbs in the daytime and at night. The difference between the brake lights and tail lights is very noticeable, the tail lights are nice and bright and the brake lights are extra bright so there is very noticeable transition between tail lights and brake lights to alert the drivers that you are stopping.
