The good: bt controller is relatively user friendly, sound quality is good provided youre not at highway speeds, mic clarity is good as well. The bad: sun visor doesnt stay all the way up, when its ‘retracted’ it still sags down about 1/8′ which is an annoying obstruction of view. It makes loud/obnoxious beeps whenever you turn it on/off. Wind cuts thru the helmet really bad, wind noise is deafening at highway speeds.
This helmet is awesomemy first helmet was a harley brand modular with a flat black finish that eventually became sticky and i just couldn’t accept it anymore. My second helmet was a hawk bluetooth helmet because i thought it would be nice to listen to music or even maybe make low-speed phone calls or accept calls at least while on the bike – nope, that didn’t work. The visor hinge broke in the first couple days, the helmet was very loud (wind noise) so i couldn’t even hear music at moderate interstate speeds, and phone calls couldn’t be heard and couldn’t understand me above 25mph. This helmet feels like great quality, strong hinges, loud speakers, quiet when riding on the interstate, and i didn’t even know or see that it has fm radio built in. Wasn’t i surprised this morning on my first ride with it and paired my phone and before i did much, a local radio station starts playing. Yes, i love it, i want another one for my wife when i start taking her on more rides. Comfortable, quiet, and awesome functions.
I love this helmet i don’t think you can beat the price eitheri live in los angeles and mainly ride to work and back (west hollywood to culver city), about 5 miles each way. , 5 miles equals 40 minutes. Easy to get on/off (i love the strap connector). Bluetooth is easy to pair, loud enough for city riding. Podcasts (talk) is harder to hear once you get to 40, but music is good to go. Cons:when at a stop, the shield will fog up pretty quickly if you don’t leave a small crack. I just don’t close it all the way too often. The rubber flap that covers the charge port has a tiny rubber flap. It’s really just a is a tiny nub.
Super nice helmet for the money- good airflow- bit noisy on the highway but can hear music perfectly- bluetooth works well and is easy to use- speakers are very clear even at high speeds- modular face rises high enough to be comfortable- visor works well but is a little warped and isn’t clear as the clear visor- can fog up is climate is hot and sitting at a light- microphone sound is hard for others to understand what you are saying. Hearing is good, talking is poor. My forehead measurement is about 22 1/2 – 23′ around. The helmet does fit tight but you don’t feel it when your riding. The tightness does help to hear the speakers very well and not shift around when going fast. I’ve taken it 90 mph and felt very aerodynamic. Speakers at that speed were still clear. I also have the sound of the harley davidson motor working against me.
My only complaint is the fit. I wish the word ‘windproof’ was not used in this listing. It definately is not windproof. It is alot quieter than alot of helmets on the market. However, i ride street bikes as well as a cruiser. While this helmet is great while on the cruiser (at speeds under 65-70mph), it is not so great when on a my streetbike. (works well at the 65mph and under but give it up at anything faster than that) i drive distances of up to 180 miles at a time and during that span of interstate, my speed is sure to be 75+ mph. While i am able to hear the music with out strain i am unable to use the bluetooth to speak to siri or make/receive calls. As the caller (and siri) have a very very difficult time hearing me. I always have to slow down to about 65mph to talk and when ever my call in complete i can continue onward at my usual speed.
I am pumped about this helmet, just got back from a 200 mile ride through the hill country and decided to review this purchase while it was fresh on my mind. This is my first modular helmet that i have owned, so my review will be based on this experience only. I done a ton of research before buying this product. I knew i wanted a modular helmet, i’ve always been partial to half helmets or no helmet at all, but with further rides, living closer to the city, and riding in the hill country, i wanted more protection as well as bluetooth for gps purposes. I will definitely buy another helmet for my wife and kids to wear when we ride 2 up sizing – i wear a 7 1/4 fitted cap, measurement of head is 22 3/4 inches. By the helmet sizing guideline provided online, i should have went with a large, but after reading other reviews i decided to go with the xl, and i am glad i did. The helmet fits perfect, not so tight that i am uncomfortable, but snug enough to feel secure and safe. The very top of the helmet does not have a lot of cushioning and you can feel itlooks and user friendliness. – i went with matte black, looks great no scratches. The bluetooth and sun shades switch is easily found with gloves on and moves smoothly.
I bought this helmet a little while ago, and i’m not too crazy about it. This helmet is really cheap in quality, the only thing that’s great about it is the bluetooth. Which, don’t get me wrong if that’s all you’re after you won’t be disappointed. However i bought this as a functioning helmet, i’ve had it maybe 3 months and the sun visor is stuck, air gets inside the helmet from the modular ‘jaw’, and noise inside the helmet is too much to the point i can’t even hear my calls or music. You can get a decent well made helmet for $99 off revzilla. I bought an extra visor and even expedited the shipping for less than what i paid for this helmet. It’s a decent helmet if bluetooth is your main concern. I’m keeping mine for passengers but i doubt i’ll buy helmets off amazon for a while. Also, worth noting the rubber ‘bits’ and plastic breath guard i had to glue back in place upon arrival, they seem to just kind of fall off. Like i said cheap helmet, decent bluetooth.

“Great Bluetooth Speaker Clarity at High Speeds and Feels Great Overall.
, and I am glad I did
, third helmet in 8 years of riding, second bluetooth helmet and by far the best for the pricepoint
I was looking for a bluetooth enabled helmet and found this one among others. I kept coming back to this one and im really not disappointed. Pros- good fit, bluetooth, drop down sun shield, breaths well, good audio volume when listening to music, flip up front chin bar. Neither pro nor con – ratchet chin strap, chin cover. Cons – bluetooth calls are hard to hear at high speeds (my cruiser is loud though), helmet auto answers calls after 15 seconds, intercom proprietary to ilm helmets, visor can fog up from breath recommend getting the anti fog visor (not a big con but the anti fog visor is an extra 20 bucks, on a almost $200 helmet, seriously ilm just put the anti fog visor on it)all in all, i recommend this helmet as its fits well and does what i was looking for. Really wanted to give it 5 stars but the but the minor cons brought it to 4 stars. Update – i have now put on a couple hundred miles with this helmet. I had hoped that using google assistant would work when riding however even almost screaming in the helmet will not trigger my google assistant to engage. However, i have been able to listen to talk radio via bluetooth on the highway with no issue what so ever. Was able to get a call while riding and was able to communicate without issue, just higher speeds have not been successful.
I purchased two helmets because i needed to communicate with my husband during our rides. Pairing them was super easy and then pairing with our phones, also very easy. When a call comes in, the helmet will automatically take the call and the intercom between the two helmets disables. When the call is finished, the intercoms enable automatically.Easyi have yet to attempt to pair the boombox on our trike. The helmet keeps out the wind noise because it has a nice section that fits closely around my lower face. I didn’t realize how noisy my old modular helmet was until i wore this one.
Been using this helmet now for about 5 months. The audio is very clear below 55mph. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and talk radio through my phone and on the freeway at higher speeds, it’s a lot harder to hear. Music is just fine at about any speed. I love being about to answer with a touch of the (helmet) button, but again most talking needs to be done off freeway, otherwise the wind is too hard to hear through. The versatility in face, wind visor, and sun visor is awesome. There are 6+ combinations of how you can wear it. One can even leave the sun visor down with everything else up. The vents don’t feel like they do much. If i need air, i commonly open my wind visor to the first knock opened.
