I bought this as soon as my husband started making noises about wanting to deep fry a turkey for thanksgiving. He is very enthusiastic about fire related things, but is not always properly cautious about such things. Thanksgiving passed without incident, but tonight, he decided to surprise me with a nice fire in our firepit. We live in oklahoma, so it is always windy. The grass is dead, and we still have brush down from the ice storm we had in november. We have no hoses in the backyard. By the time i figured out what he was doing, the yard was aflame. I busted out this bad boy and had a 5′ diameter fire out in two minutes.
If you live in a condo or townhome of a reasonable size, this is the unit for you. So many people buy the cheaper models but those are supplementary units to go along with a unit like this. They are not to be the only fire extinguisher you own. You can own only this extinguisher and know you are reasonably protected. It puts out all common household fires, rated a, b and c, and has a sufficient amount of product inside. Also the cylinder is very heavy duty metal and a very sturdy valve system on top. The smaller, cheaper ones can be made of plastic parts and may only put out one or two of the common fire types. They are to be used in addition to the units like this one, the pro 210, in case of a fire, not by themselves alone. So for the quality and the price and the fact that it is a primary unit that is a good size, i found it hard to beat.
I have ordered 4 of these in the past couple of months in two separate orders because they seem to be a solid product. Mostly metal and big enough to put out any small fire but not too large to be unwieldy. They were boxed well, no issues there. Although i think the warehouse is under construction because all four arrived dusty (inside the manufacturer box). No big deal, maybe it is actually a slight leak of the chemicals in tumbling during shipping?. A simple wipe of the dust made them look new. Unfortunately, one of the four extinguishers arrived with almost no charge in it. Very disappointing because this should really be checked on products with “expiring” attributes before being sent. But i do have to give customer service team an a++. They responded within a few hours to my email and offered full refund without having to return that unit.
I bought 2 of these to store in different areas of my home for protection from fire since i have a 2 story home we put one upstairs and one downstairs near the kitchen. These are very high quality and are heavy steel construction and very professional feeling. They do not feel like some of those small lightweight extinguishers you find for a cheap price. They area good size for storing around the house. They are not too big but also enough to get the job done just in case. They also have an area that you can track their age so you know when they need recharging etc. I have not had to use them and hope i do not have to but feel secure knowing i have fire extinguishers in the house that i am confident will work based on the quality of the construction. I highly recommend having at least 2 of these in your home just for safety and security.
I purchased this fire extinguisher for carrying in my car as a volunteer fire fighter. Some people buying extinguishers thankfully never need them but shortly after purchasing this extinguisher we were called to a motorcycle accident that had caught fire from the gasoline spilling out of the tank. When i got there this extinguisher after sitting in a hot car for a few weeks worked great to extinguish the fire, and unlike cheaper extinguishers this one was easily refillable at our local fire extinguisher distributor. It would be nice to have a slightly larger extinguisher at this price though, as it is only a 4lb one it does not last long in use.
Needed to use an extinguisher on a fire across the street recently and bought this and a few others to replace the one used. I would have used our other extinguishers, but we could not remember where to locate them. Running around the house, we looked right at the areas where they were. I like this one, because it came with a sticker that i posted to show ‘where’ to find the extinguisher. This product is fine, and can be a life/property saver if needed. But i say to you all, get extinguishers, but also post stickers pointing to where you can find them.
I have 5 10lb extinguishers, 2 4 lb extinguishers in my house, started with just a 10lb in the garage and the 4lb in basement. 2 years back on july 1st (it was a very dry year) the field behind our place goes up in flame due to a neighbor playing with fireworks. While waiting for the fire department to respond, a person 3 houses down says his garage and carport are on fire. I run and grab the 10lb and start jumping the fences in the backyards. About the time i get there another neighbor having the little 1lb kitchen unit shows up. He jumps around the corner and sprays, for what seemed like 4 seconds and says, i’m out. I jump back there and go to town with the larger unit. I stop the flames from growing due to the field still burning i know it is only time. We are back there about 2 more minutes when it ignites again, i spray a little more and put it out, then a minute longer it goes up again, my extinguisher is now out. I just turned to run to go back to get the 4lb unit when i am hit by a wall of water.
I know i’ve seen some mixed reviews, and i think some of those may have been due to age or improper shipping methods. I’m also aware of the prior recall this company had, and saw they did take action when the issue was brought to their attention. It seemed they acted quicker than i’ve seen some other safety type companies respond to baby safety items during prior work in retail. While these are something you hope to never use, it’s good to have on hand and make a habit of monitoring regularly just as you would with an emergency flash light in case of a power outage. The fire extinguisher units i received arrived in excellent condition when running through my checks before storing them away for an emergency. This is not a set-it and forget-it type item you want to rush to in a time of need only to find it not functioning properly. Proper regular inspection can prevent many of the unpleasant surprises that can occur during the urgent moments of an emergency. I like that it’s of a reasonable weight i can easily use to work with at containing a blaze, the 2 lbs extinguishers wouldn’t last long enough but it’s still better than nothing at all in the home. If you’re unable to stop a fire with this in the first few critical moment, then it’s not something you’d likely be able to stop properly in the first place and will need to make sure someone is calling for emergency services as others in the household get to safety. I picked up one for the home and one for my vehicle as it’s a good size to keep around for a just-in-case situation.

Ordered and paid for one but was shipped two. I hope i never have to use it but this unit looks like it would actually work compared to those little plastic ‘one time’ units. This one has a solid metal mechanism that does not look like it is going to break during the ‘excitement’ of a fire (the smaller units seem to have an all plastic mechanism). This unit is also rechargeable. The advise from a fire-fighter friend is that you don’t need to have the most expensive extinquisher but having the cheapest unit that might break before you get a chance to use it is not a good idea. This unit is the perfect solution.
I haven’t had a fire yet and hopefully won’t. It doesn’t look or feel cheap though. It came with a wall mounting bracket and a “fire extinguisher” sticker to place on the wall above it. Gives my garage a very industrial appeal. Here’s to not dying in a house fire.
I bought two of these, great price but one came barely on the bottom of the charged line. I read online to take it to any fire department and they would be able to recharge it for about $10-15 yet when i asked they said it’s actually more expensive to recharge than to just buy a new one. I encourage you to check the charge when you receive it and return it if it is not over have charged at least.
I didn’t realize these have to be maintained regularly. That smaller chemical ones can be bought that are not as bulky and heavy. These are more for industrial use. One for my garage, by the furnace, and by the fire pit on the back porch. I kept my smaller ones in the car. I’m not sure single as i am how i am going to maintain these. I only mounted the one in the garage next to the kitchen. I got these after my smoke detectors went off.
Every home owner should have one of these. I never needed one for years, then the neighbors from up north thought they could clear the woods behind the house with fire in our dry season. The fire was pretty big and it knocked it down giving the fire department the minutes they needed before it spread. Then a few months later a grease fire in the bbq flared up and it put it out handily. Don’t go cheap/small, get the real deal.
I never expected to have to use this, but we unexpectedly had to earlier this week. We had a very suspicious trash fire set early in the morning. This truly did save my home from going up in flames. My son helped put the fire out and his complaint was there isn’t as much in it as he had hoped. Thankfully, we had it on hand or we would have lost so much more than our back patio. Yes this works and does save lives. I would highly recommend it, but don’t expect to put out a massive fire with this sized extinguisher.
Bought it after a fire scare in my kitchen. Afterwards i was somewhat paranoid about fires so i bought this. It’s about a foot tall, comes with a small metal that you can use for mounting to a wall, and a big sticker telling you where it is. I haven’t needed to use it yet and i hope i don’t have to. However, it’s one of those things that you buy and hope you never use. I would recommend that if you got a few dollars to spare to buy this because it might save you or your house one day.
