I’ve had knipex pliers for over 30 years– they are quality tools.
I’m not going to lie, they seem a bit cheap. They just feel cheap in my hands. My craftsman channel lock pliers seem a bit more sturdy. But we shall see how they hold up. I’ll edit this if there’s any problems.
Works better than any other wrench in most cases. 3 sizes cover any size you will ever need.
Knipex best chanel lock style pliers. The head is good for getting into places. The flat side jaw on one side and teeth on the other leave less marks.
So much easier to use than standard old pipe wrench. Was able to easily remove anod rod from water heater. Slim design and gripping power make these a must for plumbing work. Wish i’d had these years ago.
I got my first knipex alligator at a trade show where it was masterfully demonstrated by the dude in the boothit served me well for many years until it mysteriously disappearedthis was not acceptable. My toolbox was incomplete without a knipex alligator (or 3).
- Great pliers work extremely well
- Outstanding Pliers. Tight, Good range of use, good jaw contruction
- Two technologies brought to a useful tool!!
I really don’t ‘need’ these i have drawers full of pliers. But these are so nicely made that they will last a lifetime and be a pleasure to use. I rank these with my snap on ratchets and matco bow wrenches.
Great tools at a great price. The new thinner profile that’s being used on knipex profile may make you wanna consider the ‘cushioned’ grips (what klein calls journeyman series). But it comes down to personal preference.
There knipex that pretty well covers that. They work and do it perfectly right up till people steal them i have never broke a pair ever in over 20 years.
Knipex quite simply makes amazing tools. These pliers are comfortable, grab hard, and have a nice shape that grips a variety of materials. We often don’t hesitate to spend a few hundred dollars on cordless tools that last a few years. These will last a lifetime – invest.
Love channel locks as a very useful tool but found they chewed up my work all the time. These are similar to plumbers wrenches so you won’t slip as easily. The large one is incredibly large and the small one would work great for finer work. Definitely recommending this to friendsemail me at [email protected]

Knipex 00 20 07 US1 3-Piece Alligator Pliers Set (7, 10, and 12-Inch)
Providing more output and comfort, the Knipex Alligator water pump pliers offers nine adjustment positions for more gripping capacity and good access to the workpiece due to the slim size in its head and joint areas. It’s so versatile, it can be used in any industry — automotive, electrical, HVACR, industrial, and even for DIY.
A serrated gripping surface on the jaws allows for gripping any shaped object — round, square, hex, or flat. Plus, the tool’s teeth are induction hardened for wear resistance and a longer life. A box joint provides directional stability when working in any environment. This dual channel design offers the operator increased confidence that the tool will not bend or break under heavy duty working conditions. A fine adjustment enables you to find the perfect setting for different sized workpieces.
By adjusting the handles to get the appropriate width, you can lock the jaws into place to avoid slipping off the workpiece. Once locked into position, you won’t have to squeeze the handles to get a greater grip. Only downward pressure on the top handle is needed to firmly hold the object.
The Alligator also has a forged on pinch guard that prevents the operator’s fingers and hands from being pinched. Because the guard is forged at the same time that the tool is made, it will last as long as the tool itself.
Square, round, hex, or flat.

Quality in Every Detail
Sometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long-lasting. Because we don’t want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look.
The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, assuring optimum cutting performance and service life — even though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this.
Knipex also looks closely at the small details. The angles, the sharpness, the hardness, the toughness of the cutting edges. The precision and smooth movement of the joint. The handle design and the finish. We keep reviewing these subjects, we research, we test, and we improve our pliers.

Expensive compared to even craftsman but better, a lot better. Greater control and not sloppy. And the range of openings hold. I’ve had pliers where i set the amount of opening and then it moves on its own. Also, the angles are good most pliers are designed so the more they open, the more off the angle is. The jaws grip better than craftsman too. I’ve never had snap on alligator style pliers so i can’t compare (and they aren’t cheap either). But i bought bluepoint from taiwan and they didn’t hold up at all, they got sloppy in a year.
I am in maintenance and these surpass all other brands i have used just took some convincing of the better half that i needed another set this makes 3 between work tool box and home tool box. I always have these with me on the road traveling or at work and even at the inlaws place when they call for a leaky faucet.
I just got the tools and was moving to my other home when i had a leaky kitchen faucet. Well the gland nut needed tightening and the mid sized cobra pliers did the trick. Just the right size to fit in the tight space with easy one hand operation. I love knipex quality tools.
I use the little one almost every day. I just wish i could find some that grip in the opposite direction too. Then i would be unstoppable.
Pliers work great , designed to get into tight areas the jaws are thin. Made extremely well the teeth on the jaws are the best i’ve ever used , they won’t pinch you when using , i’m only giving 4stars because they rust quickly , i have to wipe them down with wd after getting them wet , they should have laqured the metal to help prevent this other than that they are the best plyers i have owned.
I had previously purchased milwaukee pliers for around $20. Well built no warpage or slippage.
Plastic Coated Handles
These are super high quality and extremely functional. I had to repair my gas drier and used them to replace the gas line. If you are on the fence about the cost of these just buy them. You will not be disappointed.
There are no other pliers that can hold a candle to these. Thin jaws to grab where others do not fit with a bite like an alligator. I am a plumber and these are the only pliers i will ever use. Buy a set and you will agree there is nothing close to the quality.
