Kolpin UTV Gun Rack – 20073 : Primary and Secondary Packaging Damaged

Installed in 2015 kawasaki mule pro fxt and fit perfect and does what it was intended for very little movement. Did install a bracket towards the top to help slight movement.

I purchased this and the adapter for my 2017 ranger 570i. While i agree with other reviews that it is a bit flimsy i do not see that being a problem. It did take a bit of trial and error to get the correct angle. It works great and the adapter for my 570i was a true bolt on swap.

This , little gem is only as sturdy as your mounting floor. Which apparently is not mine. I have the honda pioneer 1000 and it has a plastic floor. So the unit was flexing as far as the floor would let it. So i had to use a brace from the gun rack to the dash. It is sturdy now but the manufacturer should know, that every floor on a side by side are plastic and this little piece of heaven, will flex and needs a second arm to control the flex.

This rack went together easily enough, but on first use one of the rubber retaining straps that secure the rifle in place nearly tore apart in two places. While it did not fail completely, it came close. I had to add an additional bungee to ensure my scoped rifle wouldn’t go for a tumble. I sent an email to kolpin customer service as soon as i returned from my hunt asking if they had a beefier version of the strap available. Here’s the response i received, ‘unfortunately we do not have any other strap designs at this time. We are always listening to our customers and will look into the strength of these straps. If you send me your full name and address, i will send you a replacement set of straps. Sorry again for your inconvenience. ‘i received the replacements within a few days of sending him my shipping address. Kudos to kolpin for good response to a customer concern.

Fit in the center of my canam defender.

Great quality, easy to install.

I mounted it in a 2018 polaris ranger xp900. Take the floor hump out and reinforce it from the underside with a plate (i used a piece of aluminum). Yhere are only 4 plastics push rivets that hold the hump to the floor.

I got this for bf as christmas gift to put in his 1969 cj 5 jeep (was told wldnt fit in jeep)that he keeps at deerlease. Easy to install and fit perfectly between seats inlined with the backs of the 2 front seats. I bought extra rubber straps for holding but none needed. Our lease is in west texas & extremely bumpy but didnt seem to mess with the mount. Gun was held tight and secure with mount/rack. Very pleased & wld deffinately recommend this one.

Works good but needs to be reinforced to stop it from shaking.

I would have given it 4 or 5 stars but the packaging was damaged. The amazon box was torn halfway open and there were holes in it. I saw a washer on the ground and could hear some loose ones in the box. The package holding the hardware was open. It turns out that during transit, 6 of the washers were missing so i had to go buy more. Product is sturdy and looks like it will work well.

I have a 2013 ranger 800 and i mounted the rack per the specs. It was relatively easy to mount after removing the flooring, drilling, and installing 2 bolts/nuts before inserting the bolts and reaching around under the seat to attach the 2 remaining nuts. You do not want to drill blind in this area or remove the metal pan in the bottom. I then mounted 2 guns – one light and one heavy – and found out quickly that they banged around side to side and back and forth quite a bit. It was apparent that the plastic flooring that came standard with the ranger did not provide enough support for the loaded rack. I then called the manufacture and asked if their was a optional piece they sold to attach the column to the dash to keep it secure. The gentleman in cs was very nice but said there was nothing they could do on their end, and that a metal floor would be better. I do not recall seeing that as an advisable piece of information anywhere before the purchase. I decided to keep the rack after coming up with an idea to make it more secure. I took a rubber cup holder sold at auto part stores and used it as a buffer to the dash and then attached strong wire/line on each side of the column and screwed each wire into the dash (screws were already there). It looks a little odd – and homemade – but so far it is working. Not sure how long the cup holder will last. Kolpin should design a molded rubber bracket about 6-8′ deep with guide lines to provide additional support with those that do not have metal flooring.

Mounted in my honda pioneer 1000. Fairly easy install but due to the fact that the floor is plastic the mount is unsteady. This can be resolved by bending a short piece of metal to act as a support from the mount to the dash. I actually used one of the arms from an old flatscreen tv mount. Cut it to length, bent it and attached using self tapping screws.

Install this on my golf cart that used for sporting clays.

Work and looks great in my 1946 jeep. Holds rifles safe and secure.
